Clinical Directors
Clinical Directors are GPs who lead and oversee the work of your Primary Care Network (PCN).
They work closely with all healthcare professionals in the PCN — including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, social prescribers, mental health workers, paramedics, physician associates, and more — to ensure that everyone is delivering joined-up, high-quality care.
What They Do
Clinical Directors:
- Provide clinical leadership
- Help design better ways of delivering care closer to home
- Ensure services are safe, high quality, and patient-focused
- Support collaboration between different health and care professionals
- Represent local patients’ needs in wider NHS planning
Why This Matters to You
- You benefit from services that are better coordinated, easier to access, and tailored to local needs
- Your PCN can develop new services
- Your care becomes more personalised, with different professionals working together to support you
- The Clinical Director helps ensure your voice — and the needs of your community — are heard at regional and national NHS level
